At Mono, we link financial accounts to applications, removing the need for developers and businesses to build individual connections to financial institutions. This allows them to focus on creating innovative services.

Today, we collect millions of data from thousands of customers' financial accounts every month for these businesses and developers, but these data come in uncategorised formats and most of our customers use this data to build everything from budgeting tools (like inflow.finance) to credit scoring (like credpal.com), so it’s not enough for us to return just raw, disparate data.

Developers depend on proper categorisation to deliver better customer experiences and that’s why we’re excited to announce transaction meta data for our transaction API

    Transaction Metadata

Mono transaction API now include a details object, that contains the insight about the transaction, (category, beneficiary/source details, subcategory).

    Example

    Debit transaction meta data

    Credit transaction meta data

    Key Capabilities

    • Identify the context of all incoming and outgoing transactions, including loan repayments, online purchases and more.

    • Classified transactions e.g Transfers, Airtime etc.

    • Return transaction beneficiary and source for credit and debit transaction

    Request Access

This feature is in private beta, if you're an existing customer, you'll need to request access for this via Mono's partners slack channel or the live chat on your Mono dashboard.

If you're new to Mono and would like to have access to this, visit app.withmono.com/register to get started or check out our documentation for more details at docs.mono.co/reference
