We've made some significant updates to our KYB and business verification-focused Lookup API, CAC Lookup, introducing version 3.0. Mono's CAC Lookup API contains sub-endpoints that allow Nigerian businesses that serve other Nigerian businesses to retrieve and verify corporate entity information for onboarding, verification, and other business processes, using just the business' RC number or name.
In version 3 of the CAC Lookup API, we have added new sub-endpoints that allow businesses to retrieve even more granular information about the businesses they onboard to their services. With the changes in this version, you can onboard businesses more easily, meet your KYB regulatory requirements, and have more flexibility with pricing.
What's new in Mono CAC Lookup v3
The new version of the Mono CAC Lookup endpoint retrieves and verifies more granular business identity information on registered companies in Nigeria, compared to previous versions of the CAC Lookup API.
Company search - this will allow you to validate a company's basic details such as their name and company registration.
Company shareholders - this returns details on all the shareholders in the company
Company secretary - this returns details on the registered secretary of the business
Company directors - this allows you to retrieve all registered directors of the company
Company name history/change - with this endpoint, you can retrieve any details on the history of the company's names or changes of name.
Address history/change - this returns any details on any previous physical addresses or history of changes of company address.

- How do I upgrade from previous versions of the CAC Lookup API to v3?
If you're currently using version 2 or 1 of the Mono CAC Lookup, please note that these versions are now backwards compatible and you will need to upgrade to CAC Lookup 3.0 for an experience with full support. To upgrade, follow these steps:
To upgrade, you simply need to change the base URL from https://api.withmono.com/v1/lookup/cac to https://api.withmono.com/v3/lookup/cac for only the Business search and get Shareholder details endpoints. All other endpoints are new and you will not require an upgrade for them.
